Earning her first artist award for a painting entitled "Lead", a clinical commissioned piece by the late Kevin H. White, former Mayor of Boston, MA. Barbara was awarded an outstanding artist of 160 participants in the Beacon Hill Gallery Art Walk.

Her piece, "The Last Unicorn", hangs in the home of the late and former United States Surgeon General and Secretary of Health Julius B. Richmond, M.D.
